John E. Dancewicz is the founder and a
Managing Partner of the Firm. Since founding the Firm in 1995,
he has completed 25 transactions. He is on the board of
directors of several portfolio companies, including Central Can
Company, Inc., Country Pure Foods, Inc., and FCL Graphics,
Inc.
Prior to forming the Firm, Mr. Dancewicz spent 14
years at Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. (Chicago) where he was a
Senior Managing Director, Manager of Midwest Corporate Finance and a
member of both the Debt Commitment and Midwest Management
Committees. At Bear Stearns, Mr. Dancewicz completed over 250
transactions and engagements. Mr. Dancewicz also was the
Senior Investment Banker on teams that initiated, financed and
closed several equity investment transactions.
Previously, Mr. Dancewicz established and headed
the U.S. Investment Banking Department at Continental Illinois Bank.
While at Continental, Mr. Dancewicz completed over 300 engagements
and served on several senior management committees and strategic
task forces. Mr. Dancewicz has been involved in approximately
200 merger and acquisition transactions and engagements and more
than $20 billion of fundraising. His experience includes
numerous cross-border transactions in North America, Europe,
Australia
and
East Asia
, and representation of both offshore and domestic clients.
Mr. Dancewicz graduated from
Yale
University
with a B.A. in Economics and from
Harvard
Business
School
with an M.B.A. in Finance. At Yale he received the Richard U.
Light Scholarship, was nominated for a
Rhodes
’ Scholarship, served as Class Marshall, and received the Gordon
Cup. He is also a recipient of the YAF Chairman’s Award.
Mr. Dancewicz was named to each of the Crain’s Top 100 Business
Leaders (Chicago) lists from inception in 1987 through 1994.
He serves on various corporate, education related and charitable
boards.
